Nao's Wedding

When Nao (from our international sales team) and Joseph met at university 9 years ago at a day trip to the Tate modern it was love at first sight for both of them, with Joseph actually mentioning this in his ‘unplanned’ wedding speech, the rest shall we say is history…

Joseph proposed to Nao in their hotel room on a holiday in Belgium, saying he had a surprise for her….

Nao arrived was driven to the ceremony in a vintage Citroen car (arranged by Joseph’s dad) at Wandsworth Town Hall with all their friends and family surrounding them, Nao’s family flew from Japan especially for the occasion!

‘the ceremony itself was very simple, we exchanged our vows and rings and had many family photos taken at this beautiful site’

They then moved on to the reception in Balham Bowls Club for lunch with their family and several close friends and the main party started from 5pm onwards. "The party was very casual, that’s what we wanted. There was no best man, no bridesmaids and no planned speeches… we just wanted to have fun! There were great people, music and dancing, and homemade cakes!"

"We had a lot of help from our families and friends, from the handmade bride's dress by my mother-in-law (with my assistance!) to the groom's waistcoat designed by his friend and sewn by his mum, to decorations, the band, DJ, wedding bake-off, to the photographer. There were  alot of personal touches and contributions! Also Joseph surprised everyone with his very sweet speech translated in Japanese for my Japanese family and friends!"

"It was the best day ever, could not have been better!"
